Cook`s Spice Rack & Chili Co in Springfield

I order the Chicken Fried Steak dinner for breakfast. They really treat you well here. The place is nice and cozy. If you feel like having a quiet conversation with friends and family go in and take up a whole room there. The staff is very nice and constantly make sure your ok!

Great home style food. Little strange that they serve ribs as a breakfast item, but my family says that they are great!

Had a good Breakfast here. just enough food!

Just visiting and my friend took me here for a quick bite. The place is small but very wonderful home cooking. I just had a side of mashed potatoes with white gravy. From the time we placed our order to service was less than 5 minutes. Excellent people

Cook's Spice Rack is a tasty place for chili. It is very flavorful and reasonably priced. The service is great and there is an abundance of sauces to try on your chili. Highly recommend!

The food was amazing! Family showed me this place for the first time though I've walked by many times. You can tell everyone that works there is proud of what they serve and had great service! Only down side is we must have picked a bad day because it took a while to get the food itself (almost an hour) I was told that is not normal for them so I hope it's better the next time, and there will be a next time!

Cute little gem of a place. Very nice, laid back staff and good food. Not many places you can get smoked beef brisket for breakfast! Can't wait to go back and try the chili!

Cute place. Went a couple of times to try different dishes. Portion sizes are large and service is nice. Food lacked flavor. Added hot sauce and pepper to nearly everything trying to make it tasty. My father had pulled pork and said it was dry and he wouldn't order it again. Tried it twice but probably won't again.

We ate breakfast here. Cozy, yummy, fun decor. Lots of veggies on the menu, which was not expected, and they can accommodate those on gluten-free diets. Very reasonable prices. Our waiter had a great sense of humor. I found the food to be .... bland. The service and atmosphere were good, though.

It's nice and very friendly family restaurant. We were there at Sunday night, that's their family dinner night. Food was tasty, the owner was very nice and honestly. We may go back try their normal menu, we was told by another customer their chill is very good in town.

Cook's has been a favorite for our family for many years. Over the years some of us have moved to AZ and FL. Each time we are in IL visiting family and friends, Cooks is our meeting place! They still know our favorites on the menu, and it's always a Blessing when they make us feel at home! Cook's is a wonderful place that makes you feel like you are part of their family❣

Staff was excellent. Food was good. A lot of variety on the menu. Restaurant has several small rooms so you don't feel crowded. Decor is kitschy and interesting. Unique place. You won't find another quite like it. Food was served hot and quickly. This is our go-to place when I'm in town to take my daughter and her family (with two small kids) to dinner. The staff is really great with children.

Went there for breakfast and got an Egg Shoe with Gyro meat and cheese sauces along with the gravy. The waitress was super helpful in letting me know my options otherwise I wouldn't have gotten a decked out Egg shoe. The rest of the menu was also awfully intriguing. The decor is very fun to look at and can be a great conversation starter. There is also a large wall of hot sauces ranging from mild to tongue-searing near the register. Would highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area and have the time.

Gluten free options and the staff very Knowledgeable. Portions and prices are great..Clean and interesting atmosphere.. 8-18-19.. think I was a bit contaminated today.. hurting after I got home.. note to self go when not busy..

Go to breakfast for Springfield. Any omelet you can think of. Lots of spices to choose from. Looking forward to coming here again. Cheap and delicious

I liked my breakfast order of veggies skillet, eggs and sausage (combined) - it was crispy on the edges (but not burnt), it had a good flavor, and was still sizzling when I started to cut up the egg and vegetables! The coffee was good, and the service was prompt and friendly.

We first had their food at the Visions by JDR Holistic Fair at the Illinois State Fair Grounds. I feel in love with their chili, the Terlingua Red Chili is delicious. We try to stop in when we are in the area. Goldie and the rest of the staff treat guest like family. We had the Sweet Potato tots, I had Black Pot chili dog with shredded cheese and chips It was more than I could eat in one meal) and my husband had Hamburger Horseshoe with yellow and white cheese (he said it was soooo gooood!)

This is the place you want to if want a hearty home-cooked meal, because this place surrounds you in homey atmosphere and friendly attentive service. You will not leave hungry, unless you didn't pick up a fork and start eating. Plenty of choices for all members of the family, great for that family celebration meal.

I enjoyed the food here are breakfast twice here. Friendly staff and pricing was average. Place has some charm to it as well. Only thing negative I found on both times there was slow service.

Cook's Spice Rack provides inexpensive, but tasty homemade meals. They grow a lot of their own vegetables, herbs, and spices. They make good use of the small space available, and my large electric wheelchair can get around through the tight isles and even into the simi-accessible bathroom. The entire staff is helpful and engaging.

First time visit I must say I was very pleased. Food was really good service was good. Will definitely be returning to try different stuff.
